08-07-2026

Safer Exploration and Production Operations Company (SEPOC) Executive General Manager Eng. Salem Kaiti and Deputy Executive Manager Eng. Ghaleb Maeli welcomed a distinguished European diplomatic delegation at the company's main headquarters in Marib Governorate. The delegation was led by Ambassador Patrick Simonnet, Head of the European Union Delegation to Yemen, and Ms. Jeannette Seppen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, accompanied by their respective delegations.

Eng. Salem Kaiti opened the meeting by extending a warm welcome to the visiting delegation, emphasizing that this strategic visit reflects growing international focus on Yemen's energy sector as a cornerstone of economic stability. Company leadership presented a comprehensive briefing detailing SEPOC's production capabilities, ambitious infrastructure modernization plans, and strict adherence to the highest occupational safety and environmental standards. They further highlighted the company's pivotal role in meeting domestic market demands, particularly ensuring continuous and vital supplies of domestic gas to citizens.

The discussions also illuminated the extraordinary efforts and high readiness of national personnel in maintaining the safety and operational continuity of facilities. They further addressed challenges arising from the export halt resulting from attacks on critical export infrastructure. Company management stressed that restoring the oil sector's developmental role requires an integrated approach. This approach must balance support for technical facility development plans with intensified international diplomatic efforts to lift export restrictions and secure maritime routes.

On their part, the Ambassadors affirmed that this field visit underscores the European Union's continued support for Yemen across political, humanitarian, and developmental spectrums, while bolstering efforts towards economic recovery. The delegation clarified that their firsthand observations of SEPOC's endeavors would be accurately and objectively conveyed to decision-making centers in Brussels. This aims to contribute to supporting international and regional efforts aimed at addressing challenges hampering the export process and assisting vital state institutions, foremost among them the energy sector.

The meeting was attended by several company department managers, the General Manager of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals office, the General Manager of the Planning and International Cooperation office, along with members of the accompanying diplomatic delegation.
